Face

Response to Puck...

If we shadows have offended,
Think but this and all is mended.
That you have but slumbered here
While these visions did appear,
And this weak and idle theme,
No more yielding than a dream,
Gentles do not reprehend,
If you pardon will we mend.
And as I am an honest puck,
If we have unearned luck,
Now to scape the serpent's tongue,
We will make amends ere long,
Else the Puck a liar call,
So good night unto you all...
Puck, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Shakespeare.

These amends they do not please,
From a spritely band of thieves,
So to 'scape this evil tongue,
I suggest that you begone.©

Ode to Helen Mirren...

Oh what yonder streams of light,
Cast shadows upon the stones beneath my feet?
Is it Titania who lurks about my window,
Her distant whimpers calling?

Fetch my pen,
Draw my ink,
Give me silence,
So that I might paint her beauty upon the world.

There is none to compare
To the fair madame's
Style and flair,
Her boldness none do dare.

She alone command's the stage
With gentle murmurs, laughs or rage,
But alas there must be one,
With whom the stage is won.

There, there in the distance.
I hear a name,
It will dance upon my tongue,
One with great fortune and fame.

Michael Caine,
Vanessa Redgrave,
To name a few,
Oh what charisma
They would embue.

When the day should come,
That I must choose,
Some will win,
Some will lose.

Titania must well be fit,
With one of charm,
Sprite and wit,
Til then I shall leave,
These thoughts so that I might sleep.
