...Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through Sunday evening...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* a portion of central North Carolina...including the following
Alamance...Anson...Chatham...Cumberland...Davidson...Durham...
Edgecombe...Forsyth...Franklin...Granville...Guilford...
Halifax...Harnett...Hoke...Johnston...Lee...Montgomery...
Moore...Nash...Orange...person...Randolph...Richmond...
Sampson...Scotland...Stanly...Vance...wake...Warren...Wayne
...and Wilson.

* Through Sunday evening

* storm total rain...widespread 2 to 4 inches with locally
higher amounts possible...with the highest totals expected in
the western and southern Piedmont.

* Persistent moderate rainfall will lead to street flooding and
flooding of poor drainage areas. The first streets to flood
will be those that dip under Highway or Railroad overpasses.

* Flash flooding will be most likely across the southwest Piedmont
where heavier bands of rain have set up this evening.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means conditions may become favorable for
flash flooding. Residents living in flood prone areas should
closely monitor the forecast and be prepared to take action if
flooding is observed or if flash flood warnings are issued.
