Oliphant - Dreamcather...

Bernard Gold ~ Bernard Quaritch Firm - Oriental Rugs

 Sherman Adams

Kay was in the LaGuardia Airport in 1974 when she witnessed a young man and woman picking up an oriental rug and walking it out of the airport while she was waiting to pick up her duffle bag.
Adams was forced to resign in 1958, when a House subcommittee revealed Adams had accepted an expensive vicuña overcoat and oriental rug[5] from Bernard Goldfine, a Boston textile manufacturer who was being investigated for Federal Trade Commission violations. Goldfine, who had business with the federal government, was cited for contempt of Congress when he refused to answer questions regarding his relationship with Adams.[6] The story was first reported to the public by muckraking journalist Jack Anderson
