Death in Love stabbing scene…updated

…the ice pick in this film, to me, represents a response to his cold unfeeling nature because of his childhood trauma dramatized early in the film.  “You’re as cold as ice, you’re as cold as ice to me”, Foreigner.  Basic Instincts also used an ice pick in a murder.  This could represent how the Jews feel some people respond to them socially.

It could also represent the aborting instrument used on some women who had abortions unwillingly or were pressured into it and becoming enraged at the Doctors who performed them.   The film is not about abortion doctors.  It is about post traumatic stress disorder and what happens when people go untreated from trauma.  To me there are many errors in this film, such as not reflecting enough on the eldest son’s past to help the viewer connect his early abuse by his mother with his current behavior.  The younger brother is a reflection of the eldest son’s self sabotaging behavior.  One failure after another is all we see here, no attempt at getting help.  It maybe the hope this kind of film will persuade more people to get help.
