…could be something from Lillington, NC. There is or was a low rise railroad crossing over the highway with a warning for trucks of only a specific height. I suspect someone may have been speeding in a truck got caught under the bridge. We were in his skiff several times and drifted under the bridge in the Big Ditch which flowed into the sound. He and his father did this occasionally and he might have hit his head on the bridge beam as he was a tall man. Might account, in part, for my head injury.
There is another low rise crossing on Highway 54 Durham area.
This isn’t the one but is similar to one in Durham and Lillington…
